I live in Exeter, UK and and off to join the Navy in the summer after I leave University. I'd really like to get to meet some old veteran sailors who are now living alone or in care, getting to know them and hear their stories as well as giving something back by lookngi after them a little bit or fetching shopping, sorting out bills etc etc.

This may sound a tad silly, but where is the best place to look up and meet such people? Thanks!

PS Exeter is c.1 hour away from the nearse sizeable port and therefore Naval influence.

I would have thought that you would be able to find some information from a recruitment office or else from one of the many armed forces' charities that assist those once they return to civvy street.
