According to the known history records, Sumerians were the first civilization established on world 7000 thousand years ago at Mesopotamia region. The Sumerians were believed to migrate to the region from Central Asia and also during the same period ancient Indian and Chinese civilizations were believed to be sourced from Central Asia. According to some theory, Uighur Civilization in Central Asia which was established 35000 years ago were the first known civilization on the world which lasted until 15000 years ago and disappeared because of some catastrophy or climate change happened on earth which seems to be a reason of starting the migration of most people from that region. The myth about earlier civilizations like Atlantis and MU has not been proven yet and they are believed to be down under the two big oceans. Ancient Uighur Civilization at Central Asia was believed to be the continuity of two mythical civilization on earth.

The Sumerians are considered to be the first civilisation in world history.
Sumer was a country in southeastern Mesopotamia, and birthplace for the first civilization in world history. The history of Sumer is counted as lasting from about 3500 BCE until 2000 BCE, where after other cultures, based upon the Sumerian, continued the civilization. These cultures were principally the Assyrian and the Babylonian.
Sumer represented one half of Mesopotamia, where Akkad, to the north, represented the other half. The heartland of Sumer corresponds much to the heartland of Babylonia.

Although the human race is believed to have originated in East Africa the oldest civilizations are believed to have been in Egypt and Mesopotamia, todays Iraq. History begins about 3500 B.C. when people started to record events. So history begins with the beginning of writing. Before this was prehistory. The earliest writing was for inventory. Egypt had the hieroglyphics and the land of Sumer in Mesopotamia had cuneiform. Egypt can claim the oldest political date in history when Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt were united in 3200 BC. I think its a tossup which civilization was earliest. Chinese and Indian (Hindu) civilizations soon followed. But the earliest Chinese history was mythical.

Well the first one we know is the Mesopotamians in what is now present day Iraq. They were the first to begin to record the history of their society. Other societies most likely existed at the time but our knowledge of them is quite limited.
