I applied for a job on Monday, and they don't have a phone number listed in the phone book. Would it look good to show up today and ask about the status of my application?

Sure check on it. Don't sit around and wait for them to call you. Bosses tend to like determination in employees.

i would have gotten all the information before leaving the office. phone #, dept to call and who to talk to. did you call information? they have to be listed, how did you find out about the job? yes, it is acceptable to walk in for status. be sure you get all the info for a follow up while you are there. some companies dont like phone calls. so ask what the best way is to follow up.
good luck!

Yes. It shows that you are interested in getting the job you applied for.

I'm surprised that there is no phone number. If there is an address, you could send a thank you card but showing up seems a bit pushy.
