It seems that I have to work twice as hard as everyone else to stay organized at work! I make lists and have a place for everything so I can stay on top of my work load.
But sadly, as soon as things start to heat up and get stressful I am making mistakes. Sometimes obvious mistakes! How do I stay in control and not get flustered when I am in a stressful situation???
The ADD has always made it difficult for me to succeed at a job or go to school! Now I have a job I love and I use so much energy just trying to stay at required performance!
I know that many people with ADD have successful careers, but I haven't figured out HOW!!!
I do take Ritalin, and it helps A LOT! But I also understand that I need to learn skills to compensate for the ADD.
Please Help!!!

I hate to say it but often Ritalin does not provide the necessary response after being on it for sometime.

You might consider speaking with your doc about migrating to Focalin or Concerta.

I have "mild' ADD and can tell you I feel your pain! I am on Prozac, and have been for about 6 years...it allows me to focus and concentrate better. I take frequent breaks at work (that's what I'm doing right now) and re-direct my brain to something else for a few minutes before I go back to my project.(.I sit on the computer just about all day doing intense numbers work)...I also listen to music through headphones, and that seems to calm me...(Post-It notes have been my saving grace!!)...
