New Method:
The easiest method now to download google video is to use online video download service (http://www.videodl.org/) to expose the real URL.
Old Method:
* Go to Google Video/Youtube and find a video.
* View the page source code and search for the keyword ‘googleplayer‘
* Copy and paste the videoUrl parameter (all of the characters after the keyword ‘videoUrl=’)
* Press Ctrl-L to go to URL location bar. Type Javascript:unescape(”videoUrl”... where videoUrl should be the last parameter you have copied into the clipboard.
* It should output the actual URL on the broswer, copy and paste that URL onto your browser location bar again to download the FLV movie.
* Play it with a FLV Player (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/WEB-Design/Flash/FLV-Player.shtml).)

One way to do it, is to open up your Temporary Internet Files folder, and copy the videos from there. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options. On General tab, click on Settings under "Browsing History" section. Click on "View Files". Now the Temporary Internet Files folder will open. On menu bar, click View > Details. Now you'll see the files in a table form. Click the "Size" header of the table until you see that the largest file sizes are at the top, reducing downwards. At the top, you'll find files that are a few thousands of KBs in size. Check their URLs to determine which of these files are from YouTube. The URLs will have "youtube.com" before the third slash (/). Copy these files to a folder. Rename each of these files by adding the extension ".flv".
You need FLV Player to open these files. Other video players will not play these, as they are in a special format called "Flash Video". You can download the freeware FLV player from http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/WEB-Design/Flash/FLV-Player.shtml
Hope this helps!

You can but it's really hard. Most would say no. The youtube videos are streamed to your computer they don't download then play...oly way to do it would be to:
1. hack access to the video folder on the youtube site...(highly unlikely)
2. Find screen capture software that records video.
3. output the monitor video to a VCR or DVD recorder and record the raw video...
other than that I don't know...
