Oh hell no. Bernie Williams may not be the best, but they also have to think of fan base support. Bernie and Derek both have some of the biggest fan bases for the Yankees. If they remove either one of those players, they know that they will have some angry fans. Bernie is thinking about retirement, so I think they should let him just retire when he wants to.

The Yankees should keep Bernie. Bernie should opt for a very limited salary or he should just retire. If he does retire, then the Yankees should offer him a coaching position. Along with Jeter and Posada, he is the last of a class, though noone can match his class.

I think when youve done as much for one team as Bernie has for the yankees, you get to go out on your own terms, Bernie bleeds yankee blood and really wants to retire there.
I also think hes still a servicable back up

I wouldn't put it so heartlessly but yes, Its time for Bernie to move on. Hopefully he'll retire so it's not a case of just being released and picked up by say Tampa Bay. That's not a good place to end you playing days.

Williams is good insurance ..Where would the Yankees have been last year when Matsui went down if Williams wasn't there. Keep a guy who has a year or two left in him.

definitely he is an experience player who is respected in the clubhouse so they would do well to keep him. regardless if they have a younger player emerge who can perform better they will ask bernie to retire or make him a coach.

Get rig of one of the few guys you didn't strip off another team. lol, sounds like a Yankee. yeah, get rid of him then go try to buy ichiro for 40 mill a year, a classic Yankee move. Your hole team consists of other teams prospects and scouting. I would say just get rid of the Yankees all together but then i wouldn't have any one to laugh at when you loser in the first round again
