PLEASE, PLEASE , PLEASE don't tell me to go under the tools key at the top of the page. I have done all that! I have cleared history and went under the content tab and cleared forms. I know I can turn off autocomplete but I can't do that! I have done searches with the URL name but it doesn't show me where they are. When I type one letter. example - the letter a - the drop down list will give several choices along with the one I don't won't to come up. EX. http:\\www.website.com. How do I find and get rid of this. I have tried SPYBOT and IE Privacy Keeper neither worked. I HOPE someone out there has an answer. To save my butt. Thanks, Madison

Not sure the correct way to do it, but if you go into your history and delete everything you've done for the day then the websites you visited will no longer be an option in the auto complete. In Mozilla you can also ask it to clear your data whenever you close your browser, it's great for work.

Also, if you are really paraniod about your old files... fo into the start menu, go into accessories, system tools and do a disck clean up it will delete all your temporary internet files.

Have you tried going to :

Tools,
Internet Options

Then click:

1- Delete cookies
2- Delete files and place a check in "delete all offline content"

3- Clear the history again, and reduce the option:
Days to keep pages in history to "1"

Hope that solves it.

You might have a spyware infection that the free scanners are not finding. Try downloading a commerical-grade scanner to see if it finds something that the free scanners do not. I recommend XoftspySE, as I have used it and it works very well.

You can download a free scan here:

http://www.bestspywarereport.com/xoftspy

Also, try going to "Tools > Options > Privacy" and setting the number of days to keep history to zero.

Good luck!

I use two programs, one Ccleaner, and Internet Sweeper. Both free and you can download both from download.com.

Give them a try, I think Internet sweeper will do the best job for you. One of the options is to clear auto complete.

If it doesn't work post an edit and I'll try to help.

Go to www.download.com and download "Clean Disk Security". It's a small program, downloads quickly, and easy to use. I have been using it for several months.....it's clears all history of everything, not just address bar. It's free and it works!!!
