Bang on, why pay £30 million for a 30 something player when you can pay £500,000 and get a talent that will last longer and have more hunger in his belly at the start of the season.

Indeed. Young teams grow together and will be together for maybe a decade. They will all peak at the same time, and have many great experiences together. This is great forward-thinking management on Arsene Wenger's part, just like Alex Ferguson when he bled the 1992 'Wonderteam' of Man Utd youth players. They were together for a decade (some are still playing) and won an unprecedented Treble.

By doing it this way, Wenger also saves so much money. His knack of finding raw talent and turning them into polished diamonds is second to none. Even if they don't make the grade, his coaches put value on players (ie Richard Wright) and sell them on at a profit.

arsenal never buy superstar players because they are not hungry enoughBy buying youngsters he builds a great platform for the club in the coming years plus buys them for minimum money and makes huge profits for arsenal no other manager anywere could have done what this man has done for the club he turned them from boring boring arsenal to the best footballing side around secured the future of the club by making theplans for the new stadium and raised the whole profile of the club who needs to pay 130 000 a wk for ballack when you get fabregas for next to nothing shevchenko 32 mill henry 11 mill carvalho 18+ mill toure 500k this man (wenger) is the best in the business and i hope he stays at arsenal for the rest of his life

yeah i think he's a really wise guy
but all this will definitely get into a rocky start first, as the young players have yet to mature. so in recent years, they have been really risky & unstable. but this effort will be paid off. it's a genius long term plan from arsene wenger.

no enlgish player plays a significant role in arsenal..they only one was cole..with whom wenger had issues...so they kick him off...
thats a shame for a EPL side..wenger is more intrested in french and spanish players...rather than english players..unlike chelsea and manu. he has signed only 7 english players so far
none of which plays in the current starting XI...

Check your spelling of as you correctly say the Great man's name. His and his managements team's ability to find, nurture and develop new young talent is incredible. Comparable now to Fergie at his best.
