It goes SO slow and it keep failing. UPnP is enabled in my NetGear router. I have tried to manually open TCP ports 6891 - 6900, but that doesn't help either.

Do you have any 802.11b connections on your network? The 802.11b is the slowest of the Wireless protocols. If you do have this on your network, consider changing that Adaper out to a 802.11g, or even, if you can afford it, change your entire network out to the newest 802.11n, which is the fastest and has the largest coverage area.

File transfers depends on both yours and the recipient's BB speed, plus (I've found) it's also dependant on how busy MSN/Live is generally
