Has anyone else had a problem with their box overheating? I have my system inside an enclosed cabinet and it seems that maybe the 360 fan isn't cooling the system down and it's freezes or gives me error messages such as "Disk unreadble" or "Disk may be dirty" and I even got one where the screen went all white and had one where it says to that game disk isn't an XBOX cd. When this happens the air inside the cabinet the system is in seems very warm. Maybe the 360 fanisn't working at all? I do know if aim a desk fan at the 360 while I am playing it, this doesn't happen.

Just want to know if this has happened to anyone else? Should I maybe take the system out of the cabinet and keep it in the open?

The Xbox 360 has suffered from a tremendous amount of overheating and hardware issues. 3rd party companies manufacture coolers made for the 360 and I would recommend picking one up. If you can't do this I would certainly try to place your 360 in a well ventilated part of your room.

I would also check for dust that may have attached to the vents in your 360, as that would prevent proper ventilation. If you bought a launch system, I would highly recommend doing all of the above, as launch systems are especially susceptible to overheating and, at the worst, dying.

The dirty disk error is somthing i ahve as well. Maybe my disk is dirty who knows. Try putting your 360 in the horizontal position it works much better. Also buy the 360 cooling fans. You can find them at best buy for about 20 bucks. Also make sure to take it out of that cabinet and put in a cool open area. If you are still having problems go to microsofts website and they will have a phone number to call that will fix your 360. See you on live:)

Yeah never put a system in a enclosed area. The heat does not escape as fast and this causes the fan to have to work alot hard to cool it down.

It's best not to keep it in a cabinet. But you can buy the Nyko Intercooler fan. It's about 20-25 dollars. I've used it with great results.

Yes, definitely. That's why you need to get a cooling fan for your Xbox. It's 10 times better!

This is frequently the cause of overheating. Try to put it somewhere where there is a large availability of air. Try putting it on a little table for example.

First thing you should do is get rid of the Xbox 306 and get a 360, its far superior.
