For some, That was a radia signal came from the deep space. The signal lasted within 72 seconds. This year will be the 30th anniversary. Why haven't we yet taken further steps? what kind of source did the signal has? I read Mr.Ehman's articles on this subject for many times. I am a little bit confused. I look forward to receive your answers making that phenomenon and its similars clear.

I know that it was heard for only once! and it was thought that the signal could be extraterrestrial. Furthermore?

No one is sure about the origin of the signal, repeated searches were made, but nothing was ever seen again. The 72 second time span was the length that the signal was centered in the antenna's view; the signal was lost because the antenna moved away. The signal may have been active for longer, no one knows. It was not detected by the antenna's second sweep, or any other subsequent sweeps. So, to answer your question, further steps were taken. SETI scientists looked again and again for a repeat of the signal, but nothing was seen again. As far as what could have produced such a high intensity narrowband radio signal, it is still a mystery. The frequency the signal was detected on is very close to the Hydrogen line at 1420.405 MHz, so it is very possible that it had a natural origin.

The team at seti was looking at the signal strengths on a piece of graph paper and the signals ranged from 1-6, then the team got a 7 and told Dr.Ehman, he came over and circled it then wrote "wow" beside it. there has been a lot of speculation over the years of what caused this but know one knows because its only been seen once.

Ehman has stated his doubts that the signal is of intelligent extraterrestrial origin: "We should have seen it again when we looked for it 50 times. Something (?) suggests it was an Earth-bound signal that simply got reflected off a piece of space debris

It was a strong signal picked up by the SETI team and thought to be extraterrestrial. It has never been heard again.

From my understanding that signal that was picked up came form one of our satellites and that is why it was never picked up again.
