if you want to visit Malaysia with your husband/wife, bring along your marriage cert. or else, some stupid religious officer will try to break in your room (hotel), demand proof of relationship between you and your spouse.

If you come some where during July or August, most probably our 'beloved' and 'stubborn' neighbour Indonesia will start their annual forest burning activity. you can see the haze in Malaysia everywhere. there is nothing Malaysia govt will/can do, as they love their neighbour as much as their family. the only thing you can do is bring along your mask and drink plenty of water... thats how we Malaysian were advised to do by our govt. This is the period we called: Malaysia, Truely Hazier...

If you want to take a walk anywhere in town, bring along your documents, eg, passport etc. If not, some brilliant police will drag you to police station and accuse you just like what happen to 2 African tourist early this month when the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 just started.

If you wish to visit somewhere else besides KL, do not go to Johor... the disastrous flooding in that area due to unproper planning of developement has not subside till today.

Hope you enjoy your stay in Malaysia.

Malaysia a great place... But if you go, soak in the local culture... The food are the best!!! Malaysian food is really unique, you won't get it elsewhere...

The last I went there, everyone was really nice, friendly and quite helpful... It wouldn't be a problem to communicate in English as most of the people there speaks english, though they had a different accent. Note that I said ALMOST all, cos I've met a few that don't, but there always someone nearby who speaks english cand can translate to their local language.

It' relatively cheap if you're not from southeast asia... Shopping, transport, accomodation... all priced reasonably cheap!!!

should go to Petronas Twin Towers in KL, the tallest twin towers in the world....

They are also plenty of beach if you are not just visitng the city area...

If you are from another big city, i'd suggest give KL a miss or at maximum spend one or two nites there. Instead head up north to Penang for the culture, or take an affordable flight from airasia.com to visit the two eastern states in Bornea to check out the natural beauty.

malaysia is a great place. if you prefer sun and sea, please head to Sabah or Terengganu. You need domestic flight. Penang and Melaka could give you lots of good food. About 2 hours to 4 hours from Kuala Lumpur.
Shopping is not too bad at Kuala Lumpur. I am sure you will enjoy.
