RE:
Where did the original beat from Nas Hip Hop is dead come from?
The hook on the single Hip Hop is dead has an original song. Does anyone know the name of the song or the band?

i didn't really care, but i thought that song was DOPE cuz of the beat Many people thought it died because of the "fakeness" but truthfully, that is just what mainstream does to you. EXAMPLE: before you are mainstream, u probably do it for fun and expressing yourself with your own style! now u want a job with it. to make a lot of money, u have to go with what the mainstream and the media wants. that is why many wannabehiphop stars were not being real, original, and werent expressing themselves, therefore, people thought hiphop was dead. Hip Hop Ain't dead it's just people aren't listening to HIPHOP instead they THINK they are listening to Hip hop (like lil wayne) The Roots are indeed hiphop and have become big again after performing with John Legend! Hip hop will live forever! i am contributing towards hiphop by bboying, and i see many jams in my area which definitely shows that hiphop is still alive. It can't live without missing one of the elements (emceeing, djing, bboying, graffiti) they all must live together It is indeed evolving! some believe there is a 5th element, beatboxing, but that is for you to decide! in my opinion it is getting a lot better but not being heard of nowadays. it is more "underground" overall, most people think it is dead because it is not being accepted into the media unlike the olden days when hiphop was new! To this day, the media does not know what real hip hop is! LAKERS ALL DA WAY (barley watch bball though)

yeah i did sorta feel everything he was saying, that song was also really good. no i dont think hip hop isnt as good i just think we are all aging. those that were 20 ten years ago and twenty years ago like what was popular then. nowadays what is popular now is liked by those of the age group rap appeals to. Even though i dont like the new stuff hip hop is not dead, the style just changed. im pulling for the rockets, but i dont know how u bet against the lakers
