Prepare several Baby soy bean powder bottles. It is not
an allergic substance and has more substance than mother‘s
milk. Frankly, it is not very tasty for us, but babies are not
interested in taste, they want to feel a full tummy and mum or
dad‘s body heat. The Baby will fall asleep soon after. I can
say this because my youngest girl‘s mother had no milk, so
she was fed this soybean milk from the start. Never had any
spots rashes and grew faster than others of her age. This was
about 20 years ago, and I think it is manufactured by Meade
Johnson. If you can find it, try it. You can prepare several
bottles and keep in icebox and heat in warm water when needed.
If you can find this product, get it. She always had a porcelain skin
which was largely the result of this milk. This product was given
under the Doctor‘s orders. Whatever your decision, I wish the
child the best of health, Iain

Try not to take a break from breastfeeding if at all possible.
I would say that if you take a break from breastfeeding, your supply may go down if you don't pump, because full breasts don't fill as fast as empty ones. Four months is still early to be sleeping through the night, so hang in there!

Enfamil and Similac are 2 well known brands. These days, all formulas are pretty much the same. I have heard people give the last feeding as formula since it takes longer than breastmilk to digest. Don't let anyone tell you to put cereal in the bottle.

During growth spurts, they are insatiable! I remember feeling like she was on me all day!

You can start feeding baby rice cereal soon (by spoon). The American Academy of Pediatrics says 6 months. My doc said 4-6 months is ok. I'd ask your doctor.

My baby is 4 months and I use Enfamil (but the Sam's Club brand..it's the exact same ingredients and MUCH cheaper). It seems to work very well with her system. She was able to switch from breastmilk to formula quite easily. Your baby might be different as far as how she digests, though, so if I were you, I would go ahead and try one kind, then switch to a different kind if she's having a hard time pooping or if she has a reaction.

Just a word of warning: Formula has much more iron than breastmilk, so you can expect much more solid poops (and stinkier poops, btw).

depends, try similac but if she gets really gassy you can switch to isomil. however since the baby is 4 months she is at a good age to start eating gerber infant cereal, and some baby food. for the cereal pump some of your breast milk and mix it with a few spoon fulls of cereal for her last feeding before putting her down to bed. It will fill her up and she wont be as hungry so soon. The plain milk is just running through her giving her the infant ceral will add a little substance and prepare her for table food also it will stick to her longer than just milk.

If she's a hungry baby try SMA milk especially for hungry babies or I put my son on solids at 3 months as he was a hungry baby and continued to breastfeed until he was 6 months.

My son is only 3 and I think they have changed the guidelines now though and recommend you don't put them on solids until they are 6 months. They change their minds all the time!

Start with something with iron - something like Enfamil Lipl or the Similac one that's equal to it are good beginning choices because they do mimic breastmilk. As far which one is better between those two - it's the same question as to which is better - Coke or Pepsi. The difference is so negligible, it's just a personal preference.

If you find this formula doesn't agree - speak to the doctor before changing it - you don't want to confuse her tummy too much!

Ive used Sma with my first and c&g with the second. But I would definately start them on the first milk. Because the second milk has more in it for hungrier babies it does constipate them then you spend ages boiling water and cooling it and wind, Pain! I did find that thai was better with the cow and gate but everyone is different, I bought the small cartons and tried them before wasting money on the big tubs. Good luck hop you get some sleep soon.

That depends on your baby, my first born preferred similac, nothing else sat well with him. my second wouldn't take a bottle with similac but inhaled enfamil. Honestly all the brand are essentially the same the absolute best is breast milk, but as with my wife, thats not always possible and there's nothing wrong with formula, it'll just take you a bit of trial and error to figure out what your baby likes AND will tolerate.

It is trial and error. I gave my Son SMA (yellow lid) but if you have a hungrier baby then use SMA for hungrier babies (white lid). I think SMA is the most popular brand. Have you tried using a breast pump for the night feeds, you will find it easier. I would talk to your health visitor as it may be that your little girl needs more than just breast milk.

she is doing what is known as cluster feeding, its really good if you could stick with breast feeding. artificial feeding doesnt always mean they will sleep through the night
she may also be having a growth spurt, either physically or emotionally (recent research has shownt hat babies not only get hungrier at around the time the grow - but also as they mature)
idue to surgery i was unable to exclusively breastfeed and had to combine - so i would be inclined to want to stick with the breast milk for now - she will settle eventually - and a few weeks of no sleep now for you is setting her up for a really healthy life - for life!
