It depends how large or big the company is.... which means how many people. The bigger the longer it takes too go through the approval process, but in general 1 week should be sufficient.

This is something you should find out from them at the interview. If you didn't, you can call the company and ask if the position has been filled yet and if not, get a time frame for when you might expect to hear. (Also ask if applicants who interviewed will be notified by phone or by letter.)

I would wait 3 or 4 days, then call them and let them know you are still interested in the position and you just wanted to know if they had made a decision yet.
