If you are talking about an inspection sticker take the car to an inspection place and get it reinspected. They might require that you get some repairs done before giving you a new sticker. (You will not get a notification from the state for this)

If you are talking about a registration sticker go to the DMV and get it renewed. (You should get a notification from the state that your registration needs to be renewed. If you didn't get it it probably went to an old address.)

Make an appointment with a garage that does state inspections. The sticker on your window is called the inspection sticker. YOu must prove that you have insurance and that the car is registered in your name. These forms should be in your glove box. You only receive something in the mail when your registration is due. Be sure to do this immediatly because if you get pulled over or are involved in an accident you could be fined.
