Contractions feel like horribly severe menstrual cramps. At least when you're in full labour they do.

Braxton Hicks (or "false labour") are not nearly as painful...more of a nuisance than anything. Cramping feeling every once in a while that are less consistent...it might be that, but I'm not sure if you're too early in pregnancy for that. I had Braxton Hicks starting around 30 weeks.

That is normal. I always felt a strain and pain if I moved wrong, or coughed too hard. Contractions feel like bad cramps that don't go away when you change positions and they will come every few min. like a pattern. Don't worry about what you are feeling - it is normal - the baby is moving more and getting bigger and so are you. When you start to get braxton Hicks, don't confuse them with the real thing. They feel like contractions, but they will go away, or feel lighter if you switch positions or move. They to can come like a pattern, but like I said they will go away and not get harder and closer and they will subside if you change positions.
Your stomach will also tighten with real contractions.
Good luck. Having a baby is the most wonderful experience a woman can have. I have three and would have lots more just for the experience in the delivery room, it is wonderful.

You're haivng Round ligament pains. Contractions feel like a SQUEEEEZE on your uterus that's very bloody painful and comes rhythmically. The pain is either in your back or in your stomach, but the SQUEEZE is definitly your uterus. You'll feel your whole stomach go rock hard, stay hard for about 60 secs, then stop being hard. If this happens every 5 mins and lasts an hour you are in labour.

You are probley having contractions. I did this with my first baby too try drinking a lot of water being dehydrated will cause contractions if that don't help call your OB/GYN. Contractions are a lot like bad period cramps for most women but it depends on how the baby is facing and everything. Good Luck

you can feel real contractions move. Back pain can also be contractions i was told, but i never experienced them. With the pain in the side, your body probably is just aching due to the pregnancy. If this continues i would call your doc just to be sure.

It's like the worst period cramps you've ever had.
