No I don't. I think the only difference it will make is that it puts more American troops' lives at risk. This war was started by America with the support of Great Britain. Tony Blair announced yesterday the withdrawal of 3000 troops on the same day as Bush's announcement that 21,000 reinforcements would be sent out there from the US. This is a clear indication of the conflicting directions of the two major "coalition" forces. Britain had been relatively successful in controlling Basra but the recent turn of events makes it quite clear that they are neither welcome, nor are they likely to be able to calm the state of civil war that the invasion and removal of Saddam Hussein has caused in the country, so they are leaving. Bush still sees this in basic terms or victory or defeat but the fact is that this war was lost the day the al-Askari mosque was destroyed and sectarian violence between Iraqis became the priority for "insurgents". American troops are a mere hindrance in the real struggle that is occurring in Iraq and Americans have no place in this land which is of great historical and religious importance to Muslims the world over.

Unfortunately for the people of Iraq, George Bush and his administration were never interested in the welfare of the Iraqi people and will attempt to remain in Iraq until Bush is ousted from government at the next elections. It is a tragedy for thousands of families in America and nearly three quarters of a million families in Iraq, that this will come four years too late and George W. Bush will leave a legacy of a divided, war torn Middle East that will possibly never see peace.

Ironically, and granted, in retrospect, if Saddam Hussein were still in power the region would be far more stable. The fact that he didn't have weapons of mass destruction is all the more a travesty and highlights the need for the USA in particular to adhere to International law and not tear up the UN charter simply because the tycoons in the administration want to fill their pockets and our petrol tanks.

Well honestly playing the Superbowl in Baghdad instead of Miami just sounded crazy to me. Really I don't see how it will help any with the war effort. Sure the troops would love getting to watch the game in person but they will still need to provide the security because having them there would make it too easy to attack. Boy I'm glad that the Commish wouldn't let him have that plan go through. Oh by the way this is the football category not politics. I actually prefer not to discuss my opinion on this.

Oh and one small thing on the real question. To those who say the war has gone on too long here is a small thing for you. The U.S. Civil War lasted 4 years. The HEALING process really never ended and it has been over 140 years. The only thing this country unites against is an outside enemy.

Well it depends.

First, how will the new additional troops be used. Will they be used wisely to both create a higher level of security and to train and superise the Iraqi Army/Police force.

Second, If the Iraq government will in fact step up and fullfill all of it promises. This is probably the biggest "if".

I really do hope it makes a difference. I want us to be successful in Iraq. I want our troops to be safe. I want our country to be safe. I want Iraq to be safe. May the Lord watch over our troops. May the Lord watch over our leaders. May the Lord start brining our troops home when the time is right.

I'm sorry, I was unaware that President Bush played American Football. Why would it matter what a bunch of us ill-informed common citizens think anyway. Bush's plan may or may not be good, but I bet it is better than anything you can come up with.

Is he planning on making a Football Team there?

I suppose, as long as there's all of the following:

A Playoff format
No 50+ days layoff
Tedd Ginn Jr. doesn't get hurt
A bulls-eye target painted around Karl C's bunghole
