Is President Bush on the right/wrong path regarding the security of the U.S. and/or the security of the Middle East.

Is the issue of the war in the Middle East a worthy and just cause?

Your thoughts...

I think it's lame everyone bashes our President. They say our economy is messed up right now? We have the best economy (Even with Bush) in the world. We own over 30% GDP in the world. He's human and makes mistakes and he's not a false christian it would be non-christian to even say that. If you're truely a christian you do not judge... If you're not happy with America go somewhere else!

We did not start the war on terrorism. The terrorists did by killing innocent people in cold blood over the course of many years and in many places. I only wish that we and our "so called" allies had
addressed this issue many years ago. It finally took the totally shocking tragedy of 9/11 to wake us up enough to try to do something about it.
I give President Bush all the credit in the world for having the strength to stand up and declare war on these beasts. Everybody agrees that we have made mistakes along the way-
sometimes stupid mistakes. The president's biggest mistake was waiting so long to fire Donald Rumsfeld. Rumsfeld's insistence on cutting the number of troops to a minimum is possibly one of the biggest reasons why we have such a mess over there now.
Other mistakes were allowing the Iraqi army to disband as they could have been used to maintain order. Also, all members of
the Baathist party were fired from civil service which basically left nobody to take care of those functions. Recently we backed down from entering the Sadr City neighborhood at the request
Maliki which was a sad event.
Now the Iraqis are killing each other. How can such totally irrational behavior be blamed on President Bush? I really don't have a problem splitting the country into Kurd, Sunni and Shia
states with an arrangement to share oil revenues. If Turkey gets
mad about the Kurds, who cares? Some people say that the
United States does as it pleases but I actually think we worry way
too much what other countries think. If we try to follow a policy
designed to please everybody else, we will be paralyzed and
groups like Al Queida, Hamas and Hezbollah will run rampant over us.
No, I am not happy that we are in this predicament and I wish
everybody could resolve disputes without war. So far, we have
not reached that point. But the blame lies with the terrorists who
think nothing of blowing up innocent men, women and children,
not with our country or our president who refuses to be run over by these evil radicals.

I didn't see the speech. So far almost everything this administration has done has been WRONG! Sending more troops in is like placing more bandages on a open wound. All your doing is covering up the real problem with something that won't help.
People don't seem to understand here in America that certain cultures in the Middle East have been at war with each other for over 1000 years! To think that we are going to go in and make them a "democracy" is one of the most stupid things I have ever heard!

As for the war on Terrorism Bush was on the right track but he became muddled in politics. He wanted a clean little war without hurting too many civilians. This is total BS. We could have been finished in Iraq if we had gone into the country and completely destroyed it. Then afterward rebuild.

Now we are stuck in a country which is engaged in a civil war. All that is left now for us Americans is to watch out service men's death count rise without a viable response. Stop playing with these people and destroy them.

Yes , I believe him .Right path . Our country could learn a few things from WW ll . Everyone pulled together for the common good . When those on the far left ( I'm not implying that's you ),
contribute to the downfall of our nation for political reasons , or otherwise , and do so with glee -going so far as to give aid & comfort to the enemy -while our brave troops are being shot at - it's bound to block all progress no matter what . And the "drive-by" media is right on the top of that band-wagon leading the parade .The cause of peace & freedom is a just cause .Terrorism and persecution must not spread . When will the drive-by media and the far left get a clue ?

I believe Bush is on the right path regarding security of the U.S. by securing threats in the Middle East...If we didn't fight those who may attack us then we'd be sitting targets. We need to defend our rights and those who want to bash the pres. should think on the fact that if he wasn't trying his hardest then we would end up not being able to go out side without fearing a bomb might explode or terrorist may attack...So yes he may have his defaults but hes trying to keep everyone safe from future threats and by getting rid of terrorist in the Middle East, our country will be safer: and i mean not just America but the United Nations too...So i feel that Bush is doing the best he can...So yes i did buy his speech :)

I think the problem with the U.S. plans is that they say them all over the news, "like whe are going to go here and where going to do this", they just give too much information to the enemy, they should say that after the pan is carried out not after.

And i think it might work if they dont give any more details about it.

He decided to ignore the advice from his military commanders and the majority will of the electorate. He made ominous sounding references to Iran and Syria. The war was unjust from the beginning, and all his plans will do is drag things out longer at the best and widen the whole thing to encompass two new fronts at worst.

If we pull out of Iraq, then its into Iran....the network news edits out the truth. we've reached peak oil output, and now the decline starts and everyone wants whats left. The real Terrorist are those printing our money..research it.
