This guy is 4 years younger than me (30, 33) so I've been dreading pursuing him for fear of rejection. On top of it all, last nite in my dream, we finally went out on a date and when I told him how old I was, he was shocked, promptly turned and walked away.

C.C. is right. It's not the age difference that is the problem here. It is the mutal feeling between the two of you that is the real question. Are the two of you friends or is this a guy you see running past or around the office? If you are friends, how close is the friendship? Does he share the same feelings that you do? These are just a few questions you need to be asking yourself. When you feel the time is right, go out for a cup of coffee or something and talk about it. The worst that can happen is you either find out you dont really like him or vic versa. Arcamedies(spelling?) said "Even though there are to sides to the coin, both sides meet in the middle somewhere".

That age difference is absolutely and perfectly within the age range of couples. Your age is fine. Younger couples have a difference in their emotional maturity, the girl being more mature than the boy of the same age. But you are both adults. I can understand being afraid of being rejected. That is natural. But did you plan on being the one to ask him out or are you talking about smiling and letting him know you are interested in him? Those details matter. Decide how much self-esteem you have to wager and then go ahead and smile at him every time you see him. If he never responds please don't feel bad. He may have another love interest somewhere else or he may not be interested in relationships and dating. Some men are extremely ambitious and take precautions not to become a regular date for anyone yet. Aw, go on. You want him. You know you do!! The worst that can happen will be if he doesn't keep smiling back!! GO FOR IT!! Show him those pearly whites at every opportunity. Wish I could be a fly on that wall!! (I miss out on everything!! Phooey!!) Good Luck!! @8=)

Your subconscious has absorbed your fear and maybe that's why you dreamt of being rejected.

You age difference is not so dreadful, why don't you give it a try??? I am sure you do not want to ask yourself for the rest of your life: "What would have happened if I had pursued him more?" It is better to do something that maybe won't work out and say later "At least I tried" and go on with your life.

Good luck

Dreams dont tell you what will happen. Dreams are just there to get rid of the bad things in your life and the more bad dreams you have the more good thoughts you will have. So smile and be happy

Subconsciously you don't accept the age difference, even though the other guy might. You will always have these fears in this relationship.

1. I am 4 years younger than my wife - so that little difference doesn't count.
2. If you believe your dream, it will get true eventually; it's called "self fulfilled prophecy".

It's just your subconscious mind acting out your fears and telling you to face your fear. The only way to get over a fear is to face it. "It is better to loved and lost then to have never loved at all."
