How about five ways to help prevent AIDS?
1) condoms and/or dental dams. If you are squeamish about the actual objects, hold up a ziploc bag with the word "contraceptive devices" in it
2) bleach (for IV drug users, they need to clean their needles)
3) a pill bottle (anything will suffice)
For expectant mothers with HIV, a very small, cost-effective amount of preventative medicine at the right time greatly increases the chance that they will not transmit HIV to their child. Studies in Africa have shown this
4) a book to represent education - educating people about safer sex techniques and your other points is a very effective way to help prevent AIDS, and
5) a mirror - to show at the class, to tell them who is responsible for not spreading AIDS, and what the most effective tool is.
(Hey, you have to admit, 4 and 5 are quite creative!)
You cannot talk about AIDS without mentioning condoms and other safer sex devices or you are doing the subject a disservice.
Good luck!

it depends on exactly what you're saying about aids. actually, condoms would be a good prop, it's an excellent example of how to protect yourself from the virus. as long as you act maturely about it, then there shouldn't be a problem. you could also have graphs showing statistics on how fast it is spreading, and pictures from the areas of the world where aids is the worst.

Why are condoms gross? If the speech is about AIDS, I would think that condoms would be one of the most essential props!

Another good prop would be red ribbons (you could bring them for the whole class) as they represent aids awareness.
