You can safely consume 3 cups of coffee (or the equivalent) per day while pregnant. I can't live w/out mine (20 weeks along). You do need to make sure for every caffeinated beverage you drink that you drink an extra glass of water to counteract the dehydrating effects. I too was always hungry w/ my first and w/ this one. My appetite finally relaxed a little when I started my second trimester. Make sure you aren't eating a lot of refined carbs like white flour, sugar, pasta, etc. b/c these tend to make you more hungry. Have protein at every meal and eat whole grains. It's also a good idea to eat every 3-4 hours, small meals. Just make sure you don't consume over 2500 calories a day or you will find yourself w/ a lot of extra pounds. The recommended guidlines for weight gain in pregnancy are: 3-5 pounds during first trimester, 1 pound a week during second and third trimester. Total healthy weight gain is 25-35 pounds through entire pregnancy. If you were underweight when you got pregnant you may need to gain 40-45 pounds, and overweight women can safely gain less than 25 w/ approval from her doctor. I gained 10 pounds my first trimester, so everyone is different. Good luck to you!

Moderate caffiene consumption is safe. Generally that is 2 cups of coffee, or three cups of tea. However coffee store coffee has more caffiene. Etc.
It is normal to feel hungry all the time but it can also be a sign of two things: 1) Dehydration: sometimes your brain mistakes thirst for hunger. Be sure to drink enough. 2) Mildly high levels of acid. Try taking calcium carbonate (as directed by the box/your doctor) 2-3 times a day. Also papaya extract is supposed to be good at balancing acid levels.
Also make sure you are eating enough protein and veggies. (75-100g of protein per day is generally recommended during pregnancy. Beef and Poulty have about 7g/oz of meat. etc. I have a list of non-meat sources of protein I can e-mail you if you need it.)

RE: Caffine-a little bit a day isnt going to do any harm, Im 4 months pregnant with my 3rd and still find myself sneaking a pepsi every few days or a cup of half and half coffee.
RE: Hungry-youre pregnant hun, dont worry about it, stressing about hunger is worse for the fetus that anything else. Just enjoy creating a life!

Are you taking your prenatals? You have to. Go buy some. Your body will not feel satisfied unless you give it all the nutrients it needs to sustain that child's life. Drink lots of water also. As for caffiene, I was a HUGE coffee drinker... I had one in my hand all day long before I got pregnant. Soon as I found out I was pregnant I did research online to find out what the safe level of Caffiene was when you are pregnant. They say if you are addicted (drink more then 600mg of caffiene a day, every day) then do not go cold turkey, limit yourself to 150mg of caffiene a day. That's it! That's 2 instant coffees for me. Or 1 perculated coffee. I don't know how much is in RC or Coke, but all Soda is bad for your pregnancy so stop drinking it and switch to water.

Eating (or needing to eat) frequently is very normal. Go ahead and listen to your body...you need a lot more nutrition now that you're pregnant.
My doctor told me 1-2 cups of coffee were ok. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I drank about 32 oz. of caffienated soda every day and the doc said it was ok, but to not overdo it.

I think the general consensus is you shouldn't go over 300 mg a day. My Dr. said 1 small cup of regular coffee a day is fine

The eating is probably nothing. Imagine you could be throwing up all day right now, you are lucky!!
My doc told me 2 cans of soda is safe and no more than 20 oz of coffee a day.
