I do not agree with a few things in your question. I don't believe that Bush is an evil man who wants people to die. Bush truly believes, as well as do I that Islamic terrorism needs to be stopped and that Iraq is the front on which the battle is taking place. As far as his legacy, only time will tell if it was the best or the worst plan to invade Iraq. I think that Bush knows his legacy is in the balance of this war. However, at this point withdrawal from Iraq is not an option; defeat there would have global consequences. I don't agree with how this conflict is being fought, but I DO REALIZE THAT I AM NOT AN EXPERT IN THE SUBJECT, AS WELL AS 99.9% OF ALL PEOPLE MAKING COMMENTS . YOU ARE A FOOL IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE THAT THE MEDIA, AND OTHER NEWS OUTLETS DO NOT HAVE AGENDAS. this includes the media and many of our elected.

You are a liberal in conservative's clothing. If Bush was worried about his legacy he would cave to the Dems. He has conviction and stands by what he believes is best for us and the Iraqi people. Why would we leave those people now--we got rid of Saddam and we need to finish this thing. My family is military and I lost a brother in Iraq--but his heart was for freeing the Iraqi people and he believed in Bush's vision. You can't have a war without death--it's just a fact that people need to deal with--or would you rather the deaths be of our own women, children and soldiers on American soil. Bush's administration has more intelligence then we will ever know and I trust that the decisions he is making are best for the future of America as well as Iraq.

Apparently he enjoys seeing all those flag draped coffins flying into Andrews AFB on the evening news. There is no call to send in more troops - he should start pulling out the ones that are there. What a sad, pathetic waste of human life!
At this point, his legacy is all he has left. He certainly doesn't have the support of the American people.

Maybe the Democrats are only worried about making Bush look bad and not about what is best for the country!
We can argue policy back and forth, pro and con.
Or we can ascribe the worst motives to both sides.
I guess the policies are what they are, no matter what the motivation, so doesn't it make more sense to discuss that instead?
PS Believe it or not? OK. :)

Absolutely! He does not want to lose this at any cost! That will be his legacy! That and being the worst president in the history of the US! Just when you think Nixon and Reagan(selling arms to our enemy to pay for an illegal war) are the worst, you always seem to get someone worse!

Are the dems more worried about a victory in 2008 than our troops? Doing what they these supposed polls tell them is popular opinion, even though they themselves had called for more troops to be deployed. Too many are willing to say and do ANYTHING to see Bush fail, THAT is their number one priority.
PS....I DON'T believe it

I believe it is the exact opposite. He wants to win the war.
Pulling out will create a lot more terrorists because they would think and correctly so that they won.
You have no clue as to what is going on here. It is sad that so few get this. Hopefully, enough people in the right places do get it.

You have to remember he is only doing what he is told, reading a speech what someone has written for him, he is not capable of thinking like an intelligent person because """HELLO"""" he is not !!
He is no more than a sad excuse for repub's !

You have stated it correctly, no way is the average Iraqi going to be trained to police their own cities, they would run at the first sight of trouble

I think you hit the nail on the head.
Pride, arrogance and stubborness are what rules the white house. "Let's try one more desperate thing to "win" this "war" so I don't look so bad down the road."
The rest of us have to endure it.
