Hmm, I don't know if you are actually looking for an answer, or you are just unsatisfied with your current ISP at work which is Earthlink.

If you are using Outlook Express to check your Earthlink, be sure you have your settings right. Open OE and in the uppper left area you will see Tools. Left click Tools > Accounts. If you are creating a new account, click the Add> Mail . Follow the instructions to personalize it with the email address you are accessing. When you get to POP and SMTP make sure you have pop.earthlink.net in the POP3 box and smtp.earthlink.net in the SMTP box. Enter your login and password and that will finish you.
If you have it on OE and want to check to make sure it's setup correctly, after clicking Accounts you will see a list of the mail/news accounts in the All tab. Left click and highlight the account which you are wanting to check then look to the right and you will see Properties button. Click that and you can check your settings to be sure they are correct.

I have had Earthlink on Dial-Up and I now have it on DSL. Neither have given me any issues.
You say you use it at work. It is possible that your Network Administrator has restricted your access to do things on your computer. That is something you will have to check on.

I have used Yahoo for free for many years. It works very well. It also comes with a virus checker, security flag to protect against phishing. It has a gigabyte of space (I don't know how anyone could need that much!). It also protects against spam by sending those types of messages to a bulk folder which is not included on your space use. and more.
