Links to school events, Updates on what the class is doing, contact info for the teachers or principals like phone and email. Info about the school such as test scores and school rank for that district.
There should also be a "showcase" link for each grade. Kids can post their art work, awards, or class projects on line for others to see. (Safely, without giving personal info) Kids will be proud to see their work on line and Grandma or Uncle Joe who lives out of state would be able to look up that school and see what their little relatives are doing! Also a photo section would be neat. Photos of the school, classrooms, cafeteria, and playground would be great (*No children in the photos*). People who are deciding which school they want to send their child to can actually look at photos of the school to help them make their decision.

Homework assignments in case someone was sick or forgot to write down homework assignments.
School events such as special assemblies or concerts. With so many single and divorced parents, school communications do not always reach the other parent.
Enrichment or learning activities in case a parent is seeking more learning activities for their child.
School calendar showing days off or half days. School calendars do get misplaced.
School lunch menu to help parents plan for purchasing or buying lunch for their child. Sometimes school menus get misplaced.

On my kids' school website, I would like to see each of their teachers have a page specifically for that class. It could have what they're working on, upcoming things, homework assignments, tips, help, etc.

I'd also like to have their school lunch menu's listed, along with a way to pay for their lunches.

Our elementary school in TX had all of the above things and it was great. Our current elementary does not have any of that, just the basic things.

Frankly there is a lot of personal information on school websites. I don't like to see photos of kids anywhere up on the websites, or even names of children anywhere. None of these sites are secure which bothers me and lots of schools post minutes and post newsletters etc.

There is no privacy anymore. I heard on the news yesterday that the US government has a right to open everyone's personal mail now...OMG!!! Is this what the world has come to?

I guess you could have a million things on your website but frankly it scares me...less is better.
