I am trying to learn some basic syntax of tagalog, and I have found a lot on the web about it. I just wondered if someone could help me say a few phrases like "you are a very beautiful women" " You have very pretty eyes" "Would you like to go to dinner sometime" If I am your prince will you be my princess" or something along those lines.

beautiful or beauty, pretty, nice, good looking are all in same category and it is translated in Tagalog "maganda". So when you say "you have beautiful/pretty eyes" in Tagalog "maganda ang iyong mga mata" or " mayroong kang magagandang mata"

It shows into your question that you are counting someone and she is a Filipina, right
"Would you like to go to dinner sometime" If I translate it in tagalog I should say "Gusto sana kitang imbitahang kumain sa labas para maghapunan (dinner)"

"Can you be my princess?" in tagalog " pwede ba kitang maging prinsesa"

Good luck!

Here are poetical approaches (using metaphor):
1) Para kang hulog na birhen na galing sa ulap.
2) Ang mga mata mo ay parang mga bituin na nagningningan sa kalangitan.
3) Puwede ba tayong maghapunan sa isang restaurant na may pinakamasarap na lutuin?
4) Kung ako ay isang magiting na prinsipe puwede bang ikaw ang aking magiging magandang cinderella?

here's a poetic interpretation:

1. sa ganda moy akoy samba, sa utot mo akoy tumba.
2. ang mga mata mong may muta na tila kristal sa umagang tigang!
3. nais kong ilabas kita at kumain ng fishballs at adidas sa tabi ng dalampasigan at ihimlay sa papag ng kaluwalhatian.
4. i am pepe and you are pilar, bantay said..bowowwow!

i am sure either she wil be yours or you'll have a kick in the a..s!

You dont need to learn those, all Filipinos can speak English. The best thing to learn are
MARAMING SALAMAT PO-thankyou.
WALANG ANUMAN- you are welcome
MAGANDANG UMAGA PO - good morning
MAGANDANG HAPON PO- good afternoon
MAGANDANG GABI PO - good evening
PO- is a word to indicate respect especially when referring to elders or high officials
ANG GANDA NANG MATA MO - your eyes are beautiful
ANG GANDA MO- you are beautiful

your other two phrases are not common, we dont really use those words of flattery, they are CORNY

You courting Filipina? try these phrases, more poetic:

You are a very beautiful woman - "Isa kang kapita-pitagang binibini."
You have pretty eyes - "Mata mo'y kahalintulad ng kay yumaong Berting Labra."
Would you like to go to dinner sometime? - Kung iyong mamarapatin, maaari ba kitang anyayahang sa isang piging sa hinaharap at sana'y ikaw ang magbayad?"
Prince & Princess thing:
Kung ako'y isang palaka, maaari bang ika'y palaka rin.
Telling her how much you love her:
"Pagmamahal ko sa iyo'y katulad ng pagmamahal ng langaw sa tae."

BEST OF LUCK, MATE!

let's see if I can help you with simple tricks beauty = ganda, when you say ganda twice(that's superlative adjective) you add "ang" before the word (ang ganda ganda) you = "mo",you are a very beautiful women = and ganda ganda mo,for you have pretty eyes = and ganda ng mga mata mo ("mga"= add this to have plural form for a noun),would you like to go to dinner sometimes = puede ba kitang maibimbitahan lumabas...
