i wrote before about my gunea pig having babies(disbelief). My child has fell in love but i needed to know how to tell what sex they are because i may be willing to keep them. I dont want them mating. The males i if any i found a home for. I just gotta figure out which is the male. please help and also do i need to take them to the vet to have them check out. thanks for any responses

The ones wearing skirts are probably the females, unless you're in Scotland.

Just like rabbits- you push down by their genitalia- if a bigger thing pops out it is a male, nothing- female. You can not always tell until they are over a couple weeks though with some babies- some males look like females for a while until they develop more.

I dont know if this works for babies but I assume it does. Heres how you sex a guinea pig-

Flip him over on his back and gently squeeze his tummy, right above where his genitals would be. If he's a male, his lil guinea naughty will pop out.

You can go to www.cavyspirit.com. they have a great page on sexing guinea pigs. you should probably take them to the vet just to have an all over check.

Uh.....you can check for the sex (too graphic to explain)....but why not just take them to the vet and while he's checkin them out.....he can let you know one time who's gonna be a donor and who'll be the bearer.....

the males and females have like a slit but the guys have a tiny outage
