Imagine you are a filmaker. If you were given the funding to make a documentary on some aspect of history, what subject matter would you choose? What would your documentary be like?

I would make a film on the influence of religion on governments throughout history. It would show how it has controlled governments, and the people since the beginning of the recording of history. It would show examples of how the church started the crusades, how they got kings to defend the church with their armies, right down to the present day trouble in the Middle East because religion still wants to be the ruler.

People are fascinated by early public works projects. like the tunels that lead from upper NY state to NYC supplying water to the city, the Erie Canal project or the Lincoln Highway. Its fascinating to see the literal man and animal power that went into these projects with the help of little to no machinery of the day to complete them.
These are the things in this country that show the craftsmanship and engineering marvels of the times because they still are in existence today.
