I am originally from Illinois, and have lived in KY for five years. It is very scenic here. Being from a place that is basically flat, the hills are breathtaking. I like the people here too; they are friendly. A lot of people think KY is unsophisticated, but that is not completely true as there are many large cities with tourist attractions such as Louisville, Frankfort, Bowling Green, Paducha, Lexington, etc... Besides, every state has its "unsophisticated" areas and areas that are backwoods or country. I live in central Kentucky and what I like is that I live in a rural area, but I am only about 45 minuets away from the big city of Louisville. I can have the best of both worlds! I am 27.

Kentucky is a mixed-up state. One side of the state gets all the money and the other side has nothing. Most of the people in the state can't drive. The car insurance rate is double of that in other states. A lot of the officials are corrupted. The #1 industry is drugs. 1/2 of the people in Eastern Kentucky are on welfare. Child abuse is rampant with little law inforcement. You can travel for hundreds of miles without seeing a police officer. There are no places to shop unless in a larger city. Other than that, its a fine place to be from. My age is 58.

32. Kentucky is a beautiful state, but I wouldn't want to live there. There is a lot of discrepancy between rich and poor and it lacks a lot of the cosmopolitan aspects I enjoy about living in a state with some really big cities.

I love that Bluegrass accent, though, that the ladies have!!
