My Brother MFC-215C printer is so slow I am despairing! My previous (HP) was so fast compared to this one. How can I free memory or do something to change this problem?

Check the settings of the printer to see if it's printing in something like "Best" mode. If so, it's going to take a lot of time to print. For most printing, such as letters or text on a web page, the "Fast Draft" setting will greatly increase the speed of the printing output. Good luck.

Did you check the specs on this printer? It could just be that it IS slower compared to your previous printer, especially if you've had a high end one.

As printer prices come down, you'd need to pay attention to the stuff that they take out of it - be it speed, print quality, etc.
