Best would be an encrypted solution. But for a start a simple ftp sync programm would do. I know that http:box.net wants to offer this service, but it is still labeled "coming soon".

There are scores of online services which allow you to sync files on your computer with those stored online. PC World Magazine has an excellent review of 17 online services, most of them free.

"Store It on the Web: These 17 free and low-cost services make it easier than ever to back up and share your files online." -- written by Jon L. Jacobi, pcworld.com (http://www.pcworld.com/printable/article/id,125729/printable.html).

By the way, if you have a Gmail account, Google's online e-mail service, you can try Gmail Drive (http://www.viksoe.dk/code/gmail.htm) which converts the extra space on Gmail in to online storage. A Gmail account is free but you will need someone who already has a Gmail account to invite you.

Yes, there are several. And I have used them over the years, but I am somewhat suspect of them. Backing up to the Internet using something free ( Like X drive, or inbox.com) to something pay for (like carbonite.com), is all kind of iffy. I would definitely encrypt using 128 bit or more, but Personally I think it is still a high stakes chance game.
