I believe this bottle of ammonia was purchased around 1997/1998. Is this something I can keep or should I just dispose of it?

You can keep it. Just be sure you know how to use it, and don't mix it with anything.

On the other hand, if you haven't used it in 10 years, isn't it just clutter that you could chuck out and not miss it?

It is a great cleaner, it stinks but will clean floors, strip wax.
Since it is not food, I would keep it to use.
