All cell phone numbers by default are unlisted. If you are concerned about telemarketers, they are not allowed to call cell phones anyway. You can still put your number on the do not call list if you wish at http://www.donotcall.gov/ There are cell phone directories out there but you have to have yourself listed. They do not collect numbers from the carriers, only the individuals who request to be listed.

If you meant how do you block your number from showing up on someone elses' caller ID, dial *67 before the number you are calling. The next answerer mentions a permanent outgoing caller ID block which you can get from your carrier for free.

A reverse cell phone lookup service I have used is http://reversephone.toptips.org

Enter the number in the system and they will tell you a lot of informations about the phone number and the person who owns it.
If they have extra details you will have to pay for the report.
Free reverse phone lookup sites generally don't provide anything interesting. To get further information, money will have to be paid. The free searches do not provide much more than what can be found through the phone book.
The best thing is that you can get informations about anyone!!

reverse phone number search compiles hundreds of millions of phone book records to help locate the owner's name, location, time zone, email and other public information.

Use a reverse phone lookup to:
Get the identity of an unknown caller.
Identify an area code.
Recall the name of a person whose number you wrote down.
Identify an unfamiliar phone number that shows up on your bill.

Call your cell phone company, they can help you out with this problem. My brother had the same situation, now everytime he calls me it says restricted number and does not display his phone number.

Hope this helps!
