I *love* the ones at this site:
http://www.custompeturns.com/
They look more like sculptures and many have candles that you can light in honor and remembrance of your pet. I especially love the one under "Sculpture Urns" called "The Grace Urn", but they are all absolultely stunning and far more than just a wooden box.

Yes, I understand and assume you been looking from what you say. There many on-line and they not cheap. What you may try are a few things. One look at the Wood ones on line, the pretty ones that made from nice wood and have Scroll work and maybe inlays. IF, you know someone who good working with wood, they may be able to make you one cheap. Many times you may go to a local Cabinet Shop and tell your story and they may give you some nice wood for the project. Also, use the "Puppy Dog Eye" approach, maybe they make it for you, when they know your situation.
Your other option is maybe an Antique Shop or a Store sell nice Vases and such. Look around. You may find a real nice vase with a lid that old or new and pretty. Be sure it of adequate size. Put the remains in and seal the lid using a good quality silicon rubber, there some like 30 year stuff, but, most likely it last longer if kept out of the sun. Good Luck and sorry to hear about your friend and companion.

I am sorry to hear about your loss, the loss of a pet is never easy. I too have lost 2 dogs and I purchased urns for them at the vet where they were cremated. they are really nice and there is a place to put a picture of them. Good luck with this.

Yes, I too am so sorry for your loss! I know how awful that can be.
But why not use a pine box? Or make your own? Use better wood and stain it. Or paint it and on all sides, put pictures of her/him on it. You could also varnish or laquer doggie biscuits or treats and put on the top. Make it so you won't feel so sad to look at it. Make it pleasurably as possible...so you smile when you look at it rather than want to cry.

I just ordered a lovely urn for my kitty who passed away. It looks like a statue of a cat.
The folks at this place are kind and compassionate. Their prices are good.
So very sorry for your loss.
