David Beckham would be making a big mistake if he didn't take the money. Who in their right minds would turn down $250 million over 5 years? Unless of course someone else was offering more than that. I know some Britons aren't exactly cosy to the idea of Beckham playing in the MLS, but really can you blame the guy for taking the money someone is willing to pay him?
I sure hope the LA Galaxy's owners know what they hell they are doing and have an idea of how they are going to cover his paychecks. They do know soccer is NOT king in the US don't they?

No, I think it's a good move. He wasn't getting a lot of playing time in Spain, and his career is about over, so why not come to the US and bring over some of that marketability and hype? I think it'll get some girls interested, that's for sure lol. But I also think, since he is so marketable, you'll see a lot more of soccer related ads and such because he will be in them. I think it's a good way to end a career. Go to a place where you can still play but also help a young soccer nation grow.

No, I don't think so. He has a Beckham Academy in L.A. and has bought a house there. He is young enough to still enjoy some footballing years, and will make a mint out there (as if he needed it!). Good luck to him I say. If he came back here the press would make all of their lives a complete misery.

He's probably doing this to get some peace and quiet. Nobody cares about soccer here and no will go to the games. He can walk down the street unnoticed. I don't even really know what he looks like. Let the Brits keep him.

I hope having lost his job and having paid all that tax over in Spain, he isn't going to come here to the UK and scrounge off the state like all the other foreigners. PS for anyone who doesn't get irony, that was irony. I have had so many problems with people taking me literally all the time.
He's not going to America is he? (He'll never play for England again then).

Don't think he has a choice. His career with any worthwhile team is officially over and he should bow out like a man rather than end up at some second rate team.

Him and his missus are examples of extreme vanity and excess. He has been a fab player but his ego needs relocating to make room for some decent sportsmen who have humility and appreciation. However, the US will love him.

Does he have a choice? No real teams are stupid enough to match his ridiculous wage demands on footballing merit so he may as well go play in the 'soccer' leagues where he might still look good.
