Yup, completely normal. I usually have no problems whatsoever, but as soon as I got pregnant I started getting diarrhea all the time. Now, at 19 weeks, it is the complete opposite... constipation! I'd still let your Dr. know so they can make sure you don't dehydrate or anything like that.

Having diarrhea all the time is not good. It can dehydrate you. Make sure you are drinking A LOT of water to counteract this. I have diarrhea sometimes too (20 weeks) and it is okay to take immodium as long as you take it occasionally. You may have a touch of the flu, or food poisoning. You might want to call your doctor if it persists b/c your baby is also losing nutrients.

YEP. your body is going to go through so many change, you wouldn't even believe it. I am usually a really constipated person (don't you just love telling people about your bowel regularities :) )
and during the whole first trimester with my second child, I had very loose bowels. It eventually went away, and now, at 40 weeks, I can't go, again. It's like a vicious cycle. I think, in the beginning, it all has to do with your hormone levels!! Good Luck.

Depends on how far along you are. Early pregnancy and diarrhea could mean you need to change your diet... if you're eating to much "junk" that your body doesnt' want to use your digestive system will just get rid of it. Oh the joys of pregnancy! If you're later in your pregnancy you could be having B/H contractions (practice) that might be stirring up your bowels and causing a land slide! Even if you don't feel them :)

How far along are you? If you are close...diarrhea can be a sign that your body is cleaning itself out for the "BIG" day! If not, it could be hormones and what your eating!!

It is. I experienced that with my first pregnancy, and now I am going through it again with my current pregnancy. My old-world mom has always recommended drinking rice-based beverages, or even the water that you boil your rice in (I know it sounds gross) to help with the runs during pregnancy, since you shouldn't be taking any over-the-counter medications for it. As gross as it is, it DOES work! Give it a try :)

IF you're taking prenatal vitamins that could be causing it. Check with your doctor about this. It could be something else going on.
