8 pm here too, only on Friday they're open until 9pm. I live in the Netherlands and almost all stores close early. I miss the midnight store runs I used to make when I lived in Dallas where many groceries were open 24/7. I'm a night owl and it was also so nice to shop when there were hardly any people in the store! No full parking lot, no long lines, no screaming kids...

We have some Mom & Pop stores that close at 9. A few chains that close at 10 and one that closes at 11.
Luckily, Wal-Mart is 24 hours and about 20 minutes away if I cannot wait-which I usually can!
(I live in a suburb of Birmingham, AL-if it helps at all).

We have 3 main local grocery stores.
They're all open 24 hrs.

We do not have a grocery store here. The next town over I think midnight? Never over there after dark so I really do not know?
