Sure you can. Being ignorant is a choice. So live with it or change.

John Kennedy was reported to have been a poor speller. I am 58. I have multiple degrees.
I have written three books. I am also dyslexic.
I have difficulty with right and left. I can't spell worth beans. However I have learned to use spell check in all its forms. I have a dictionary on my desk top all the time. I spelled so poorly that I could not look up a word in the dictionary.
People who make fun of you for poor spelling will also have other judgmental problems. Get a desk top dictionary so you do not have to go into programs like word or the dictionaries on the Internet. Get in the habit of spell checking everything. No one will ever know. I spell checked this before I sent it to you. There were five mistakes you do not see now.

It is rude to do so..but, my father was a journalism professor, had his own radio show, worked as a sports broadcaster, reporter, etc., so I was always criticized with spelling, grammar, etc. I can't stand people who don't know how to spell. I remember in grade 9, a student raised their hand and asked how to spell the word 'seven'. Oh my goodness, I just about died. I learned words like catastrophic in grade 2. If you can't spell simple words by the time you are in grade 6, then there is a problem. Keep in mind though, sometimes a person who speaks and writes a second language has a harder time with this. You shouldn't make fun of them though.

There is a spelling check every time you answer a question but some people don't even see it much less use it.

No one shouldn't make fun of an ignorant person.

Of course you can't!!! Some people can't pick stuff up as easily as others.. Would you like it if someone made fun of you 'cause you couldn't fix and engine.. Or Wire a house? It's the same thing so NO, you shouldn't make fun of anyone who can't spell!

Why would someone want to? It's quite childish to make fun of people. And just a heads up. This is an animal section of yahoo answers.

I don't think so. It is rude and Judgemental. Quite a few people have problems spelling, and everyone has a problem in one area or another. Nobody is perfect.
