Yes, it's possible, depending on what's installed.

The answer is yes, and easily.

It depends on what kind of setup IT uses, but there are a few ways they can pull this information. The first, and easiest, is to just look at your PC and check your history, temporary internet files, and cookies. And believe me, IT has access to your computer at any time and you wouldn't even know if they wanted to look at these files.

Beyond your local PC, they can check the logs of their servers. The DNS server, which translates names like www.msn.com into IP addresses, can easily keep a log of every website visited, and who visited it. Another way they can do this with a bit more detail is using a proxy server. A proxy server acts as an internet gateway, through which all web traffic goes. If your company uses a proxy server, they most likely use it for this exact reason, along with being able to block certain sites that they don't want people visiting.

My advice: Don't mess around on your company PC. Everyone visits a few sites for personal reasons now and again, but be careful where you go.

Yes they can. In my experience working in IT though it's rarely done unless there is already a reason to supsect an employee is abusing work equipment. Especially in big companies - theres just too many people visiting too many sites for the IT dept to keep a constant check on what you're up to but a record is kept should we be asked to check back on what a particular user has been accessing. If your use is going to be monitored you should legally be made aware of this.

Yes, they can. Most companies keep some sort of record as to which sites etc. are being accessed. They do this in case they have a rogue employee trying exploit the company in some way or abuse the companies web use policies.

Of course they can. All the internet traffic goes through their servers along with the IP of your specific computer. Don't do stuff you shouldn't be doing at work. And if you will anway, use a proxy.

They can check what you are doing several ways, can check where you have been on the Internet, what programs have been used, whether you have sent emails or not. So pretty much anything.

Oh and the guy who said about a proxy sever, they usually block them after they get the hints you're using them anyway.
