I'm trying to think back through my experience... I'd have to say counseling did help but TIME heals all wounds. If you are the "leaver" it is easier. I was the "Levey" so it was much harder. "They" say it takes longer for a woman to get over the heartache. After about a year and a half, i was pretty much over the whole thing.

Divorce is very painful and everyone reacts differently. It is a grieving process. If you feel you need counseling then get it. Just remember, it takes awhile to get over it with or without the counseling. Don't expect miracles.

I am a therapist and am also divorced. I encourage counseling (and went through it my self) because it was helpful to have someone neutral to talk to. I liked being able to just speak my mind and work through things with opinions of friends or family. I found that everyone had an answer to my problems... A therapist will help you to find your own way through.... Hope it helps

If you let go dearl;y something or someone you love...how can you live with yourself knowing their out there in the cold when they had you to protect them. Is life so bad that we have becoime selffish and destory hearts because of our self pitty.
You have to overlook things, realize were humnan and we all have faults. if you can never come to reason why you love someone and then throw it away as if it is nothing than you got real problems about honoring not what is best desired for you personally, but sharing life with someone that can be as special as you want it to be if you allow it to be...do not be the bad guy, but be a good Man and do what is really right and hold on to the best thing that has happne to you right now in your life...it will get better

It helps if you really just need to talk to someone and get advice if you have no one else to turn to but in the end your basically spending money just to have someone to vent to. divorce is rough especially if your on the being left side of the equation but time will make it all better just try and stick it out.

I wouldnt dream of counseling after the divorce. I was toooo damn happy to have finally gotten the divorce. If you didnt want the divorce look to your friends for support.

It depends. Do you still trust each other? Do you still love each other? If yes then you might have a chance. If no, move on and dont waist each others time.
