I think it's past it's sell-by date: even the yellow inhabitants of Springfield are getting jaundiced...

Well in fact the Simpsons has released 18 seasons but only eight are avaliable for collectors edition box sets. I still think that it's quite funny however. Many people may disagree but American humour is often different from British which is a big effect. I really don't like the fact that people find Homer injuring himself funny. For example the Simpsons movie movie trailer, Homer is seen being hit by a demolishing ball and then hit off several times. Every time i see this the Cinema is in an uproar of laughter. This is very slapstick and not that humerous

I thought The Simpsons already explained it? They are still the way they are, but you just have just grown tired of them.

Or do you want Poochie to return?

Anyway. The Simpsons have become more clean and more intellectual, their jokes become less crude and more complex.

Lisa might like it, but Homer would change the channel.

But they can kept the way they are, I mean look at Doraemon, it aired for around more than two decades, and the plot remain the same.

A couple months ago I would have agreed with you wholeheartedly, but this season has been surprisingly better. I heard somewhere that they got the old writers back, but I never checked it out to confirm that. Whatever it is, I'm actually finding myself enjoying "The Simpsons" on a consistent basis again.

It's the same with every TV show. They always seem to go on for too many series' and end up p1sing people off!I'd say the people who make The Simpsons should have moved on to fresh things after maybe 6 series',because the public needs variety.

I am very sad the Simpsons is no longer funny, but perhaps in a few years time we will look back on the new episodes, and re-evaluate them.

They lost their edge a few season's ago. They have become predictable. Occasionally there is a good episode made, but it seems that their heart just isn't in it anymore. Then again, what else can they do after almost two decades on the air.
