The other day I drove to the park to go for a walk with my dog. Upon entering the park there is a cemetary on the left. There was a burial going on with hundreds of cars and approx. 30 police cars. I thought that was interesting and looked as I drove by. The person must of been somewhat important.

Upon leaving the park I looked over to see if it was still going on. Everyone had left but a couple of trucks. I saw one guy pushing dirt into a mound. He took his last push and threw the shovel in the back of the truck. He got in the truck and they sped off.

All that was left was a freshly piled up mound of dirt. No more people, police officers, anyone.

Just the person that was buried.

How does this affect you?

You can't stay there forever. You pay your respects and cry a bit and then get on with your lives. Sure you'll miss that person if they were close with you and in your family but you can't dwell on it and let it affect your live. Besides I'm sure the person who had died won't want you to. It's just a empty body because the soul is ethier in heaven or hell so you'd just be dwelling over nothing but a empty body. Funerals only last a little while anyways.

It is a natural part of life. From the moment we are born, we start the dying process. Death is a part of life. The funeral ceremony is not for the dead. That person can no longer care one way or the other what is done. The funeral rite is for the living. While what you described can leave one feeling sad, that is normal. You've just experienced your humanness.

That is pretty profound.
They gathered to remember the person & thier life. What is left is just a body, no soul. They will always remember that person. I'm sure they will visit the grave once the monument or plaque is placed.
It's just a fact of life.

People moving on, after the death of someone important to them! I for one wouldn't want people to waste there time hovering over my grave. Hello I'm not there!
My mother in law once told me, "When I die, I want you to have me creamated, skip having a funeral, take all my money go on a cruise, get drunk, and toss my *** over the side!" The same goes for me!

It's a natural part of life. Once somebody dies, they're gone. Their spirit isn't there at the graveyard. The funeral is for the family, not the person who is dead.
