I love my dog. He's a little spoiled but it's ok. He still listens and we have so much fun together however he can not stand my boyfriend touching me. We live together and ive been with him since i got the dog. But the puppy still sleeps between us even though hes now up to 50 pounds. Its a little crowded but i love him and like him there. My problem is that whenever i lay aginst him or kiss him the dog barks. he hates the attention on anyone else he even trys to climb between us. What should I do? I dont like the barking but i love him being so close

Do not confuse my love for a weakness. I am very in control. We just have a close relationship. He's like my baby.

I am in the same boat as you. My Lab who is 120 pounds is spoiled rotten and I would not have it any other way. I absolutely adore him and he is well mannered but I am not allowed to play with other animals, hold children or get close with my boyfriend or anyone else. He sleeps next to me and as since he was 7 weeks old and will until the end. My vet and obedience trainer says that I need to set boundaries with him and discipline him for the behavior. But I do not want to change our relationship, he is my baby. SO I let everyone else fight it out but I stay out of it. I know it is not right but I tell them they need to establish their own ranks amongst the pack. My dog knows I am alpha but he views them especially my boyfriend as lower ranking pack memebers. I tell them and myself that they have to do it and then my dog is fine with me. But at night my dog will get between my boyfriend and me and push him out of bed, and if that does not work he stands over him and drools. So my boyfriend gives up and then things do not change. as i have been told they do have to establish their roles as highr pack members. If you watch Dog Whisperer it is all explained very well about how dogs view things and how to change things. But most everything is about where one ranks in the pack, if your dog views themself higher than there is no respect.

If this dog is still a pup, you are going to have your hands full! He needs dominance training... NOW! Sleeping on the bed is a HUGE dominance thing... however, I too enjoy having my dog up there. However, she knows she is ONLY allowed on the bed or couch WHEN INVITED. To maintain dominance over your dog (this does not mean he needs to fear you, but just that he recognizes YOU as the boss), you need to make him "wait" for his food, and he needs to let you enter areas first (like through doors, etc) unless you command him otherwise. If you can, I'd try to find a trainer experienced in dominance training. If not, look it up online and get pointers that way.

I'd try to get started right away though or it could even become dangerous.

Kick the dog out of the room or face losing your boyfriend.

u will probably have to put him out of the room you sleep in. or just ignore the barking and he might stop doing it. my cat used to be scared of my bf but now she loves him. one way she came around to liking him was he gave her food and treats. this might be an option for ur dog. good luck

When you want affection from your boyfriend, put him in another room and close the door.
