Only some of the patches overlap, you will have a small handfull to download. Just make sure that they are installing, as well as downloading and you will be playing in a short while!

BTW, when you create your character, join the YSERA REALM and I would be happy to help your character start off right :-)

Just send me a message through Y Answers

There are serveral patches you need to get when you do the first install of WOW on your home PC straight sfrom stores.

If you successfully got the patch go to your WorldofWarcraft directory and you should see a patch file, as long as your not getting errors on the download you should be fine.

Its been awhile since I installed the game from scratch but I'm guessing there would be 4 patches total to download.

I believe that the WoW sold in stores is several patches behind the live game. It will do this as many times as is necessary until all of the patches have been installed. This is normal and nothing to worry about. And yes, it will take awhile depending on your connection.

Actually there are not several patches you will download because the patches overlap eachother so everything that comes to you will come as one patch. Otherwise you would be wasting your time having each class and quest tweaked back and forth before you could play.

did it run the patch after downloading it? it will only continue to download it if the patch was not installed (version number is older).

as for just installing it, it needs to install three patches. i recently reformatted and had to install. 3 Moderatly Sized patches was what i had to download.

I never had that problem but you could go to www.gamespot.com and download the latest patch there.
