2 brothers where playing in the yard and 1 of them found a butterfly trap in the spider’s web. The spider begins to approach the butterfly, but then the boy reaches to save it from the spider’s web. As the boy reached to help the butterfly his brother crashes the spider. The 1 who tried to save the butterfly got angry and asked his brother why he killed the spider. The brother replies, because you wanted to save the butterfly from the spider. His brother replies no I wanted to save them both! The one who killed the spider then said Spiders need to kill butterflies or they will die of starvation so if you keep saving the butterfly the spider would die away. So to spare the butterfly and to ease the spiders suffering you should just kill the spider. The one you saved the butterfly said no you don’t have the right to take the life of the spider. He wanted to save them both.

My question is: would you save the butterfly or kill the spider?
Basically asking who do you feel is right.

neither brother is right
Nature is what it is...people should let things take their natural course.

both and neither. the one who wanted to save them both had a good heart, but he really should have left things go since the spider needs to eat, and the butterfly wouldn't be able to fly with the spider silk still on it's wings anyway.
the other brother was , in his own way right that if you will not let the spider feed then it will die, so killing it is the more humane approach. however, the idea of destroying something to save it isn't very good logic .
in short, the best thing to do would be not interfere, since we need both spiders and butterflies to make our world work. let the spider eat, and let the other butterflies breed so there are more
later.

Well, the butterfly is dead anyway because the little boy probably touched his wings and taken off the powder. Which means it can't fly anymore, thus cannot protect itself from predators anymore or feed its self either, and the spider needs food to survive, although, the spider can always get something else for luch, I say you should not interfere with nature, it's not in our right to change nature's course. And certainly isin't right to kill something because it's not as "beautiful" or delicate as something else! Now that is very jugemental!

Really both are for interfering. However it was especially foolish and nasty to kill the spider - saving him from suffering since it didn't get to catch the butterfly is ridiculous - spiders can go for months without food.

Neither. Leave the butterfly- it would've died anyway. After it got stuck to the web, the sticky residue on its wings would've prevented it from flying, so it would've died anyway. The spider was just looking for lunch.. is it right to kill the spider and save the butterfly just because the butterfly is prettier?

Save the butterfly. That butterly is not the only insect on the whole planet. After I'm gone and not watching the spider, she'll have her fill of bugs so they'll both survive.

Both are right in their own ways. Denying the spider food means starving it and killing the spider is a merciful act although terrible.

The Best solution : Don't interfere.

Spiders are creepy-crawly and some are poisonous. I would much rather have a beautiful, harmless butterfly flying around than a spider creeping around leaving spiderwebs everywhere. ☺
