well accordin to my theory........if we consider time to be da fourth axis as imagied to be by many scientists, then....if only we can go back to da coordinate 'that was' that is if we know wat dat coordinate then we can get back to that coordinate, but we need to find that 'device' thatll take us there, i kno almost impossible but itll be so kul if we can go in past, and we can also change da other three coordinates to choose our position, does this make some sense??

Some day I hope. What is your theory?

The theory goes that as time is just another dimension of our continuum and can be warped by large objects just as space is, then it should be possible to. And consider this, you can travel through the first three dimensions so why not the fourth? Time is not absolute, it is relative, leading to things like the twins paradox.

There is some reason to believe that wormholes can lead to time travel but as they are not really stable, well would you risk it? Certainly, we have reason to believe that ime travel is possible on the microscopic level but there is no evidence of it actually happening on the macro level.

And then there is the question of how safe is it. What would happen if you went back in time and killed your grandfather before your father was conceived? There would have to be some natural checks to stop this sort of thing unless it created a new history, a new universe.

According to Einstein's theory of relativity, if a person were to travel at the speed of light, that person would go forward in time (at a greater rate than we presently do). The only drawback is that there would be no way to return to the present. There is a Disney movie called Flight of the Navigator where a young boy travels in a spaceship at the speed of light for a few minutes and when he returns, Earth time has progressed 8 years. It's an interesting idea.
According to Einstein, the faster you travel through space, the faster you travel through time. An example can be found in a train station. If a train travels through the station and does not stop, time is different for the passengers than it is for the people standing in the station. Of course this difference is only a fraction of a second, but for the passengers time is actually moving faster as they travel through space. It would take tens of thousands of miles per hour before this effect could be noticed.
As for travelling backwards in time, it does not seem as attainable. I am not aware of any popular theories about travelling back in time. You have to remember, of course, time is not real. It is merely an invention of humanity created in order to regiment our reality. Do you think an animal has any grasp of time and space?
Although it would be interesting to travel in time, it would cause total chaos as people went back and forth altering the outcomes of history, and eventually you could create a future in which your parents/grandparents/great grandparents never existed, therefore erasing your own existence. It might be cool to go back to 1865 and save Abraham Lincoln from assasination, but it would completely alter everything that happened afterwards. I don't think humans could handle that kind of responsibility.

While all the theories seem applicable the only flaw to all theories of traveling through time is this. In order to move through the idea of time you must first achieve the speed of light. While this is entirely possible the speed of light in itself is the problem. We exist as we do for the fact of atoms. We see the atoms not as individual but as a cluster, and that cluster is what we call matter.
When you move closer to the speed of light/time you move also proportionately closer to the speed the atomic particles move. Thus the atoms will not be "seen" as the same cluster. As you move towards the speed of time object will appear to bend and will become non-visible as you achieve the 186,000mps. If we could achieve this speed the vehicle that was carrying us would in essence cease to exist as matter in the form we made it. The atoms and molecular structure would be moving the same speed as we and therefore, breakdown. Time travel is not attainable.

time travel is possible according to Einstein's theory of relitivity. simply, if you go fast enough time will slow down. as you approach the speed of light time almost stops. seing that reaching the speed of light is impossible you cant stop time (except in the case of warp bubbles which is another topic). which will send you to the future. if i remember correctly, a university in illinoise i think was conducting experiments useing the curvature of light as a possibility.but why go back in time? you cant change anything. because if you change something then in your new reality you had no reason to go back in the first place so you wouldent have gone back so you wouldent have changed it in the first place. thus the time travel paradox.

Einstein's theory of relativety suggest time travel is possible. But would you want to! Should you? Imagine the corruptness. Imagine the affects on our future should someone change the past. Interesting!

No. Time is a human created construct to measure how things (culture, nature, people) change and age. Time doesn't really "exist". Therefore, how can you travel through it? Everything that happens follows cycles (i.e. earth spinning, planets move around the sun), aging occurs because cells get old and die. We just use the concept of time to measure these processes.

well... ya rlly want 2 kno... i don't think sooooo! I think that it's a fun idea 2 play around w/ in yur head, but i dont think its feasible... i think that time travel is something that only exists in sci-fi novels and tv shows... srry 2 burst the bubble = )
