No, not Europe - the whole world. He's been on the bench for too long. He's a pretty boy and any club he plays for will sell loads of strips to silly little girls, so from a promotional point of view he's an absolute gold mine - but his football (whilst is immeasurably better than mine) is crap.

No. He was the best player in the country when he left Englsih football. He failed to set La Liga alight, but sometimes that happens when you move to another country (Shevchenko, Ballack, Veron etc.) It doesn't mean he's not a good player, just perhaps made the wrong career move. He is highly rated for a reason, not just down to his high profile private life. OK, he fell behind Gerrard, Lampard etc. in the England set up, but he should really be in there as the third best English midfielder (perhaps 4th if you include Joe Cole).
Going to America may be a mistake. He can still play for a top, top European club for a few more years yet. Trouble is, I'm not sure if any of the big four in England would have him. I just hope he doesn't go over to LA and realise his mistake.
And besides, if Beckham had been that much of a flop at Real, he'd have been shipped back to England quicker than Michael Owen!

It wasn't that undesirable. extraordinarily pondering how the KC followers were razzing Beckham intensely on corners, etc. fact is, everywhere Beckham is going, he's, in himself, a significant journey. And to objective to pretend otherwise with information from treating him as basically yet another participant might want to be phony. element i spotted maximum about the printed is that ESPN needs to be better careful with its field mikes -- I felt like Kevin Hartmann changed into shouting 4-letter words at me the total recreation. And btw, kudos to KC, because the fan environment appeared tremendous, in spite of their having to cram a football pitch right into a minor-league baseball park.

Why does every 1 keep saying this the only people who rate him that highly is the ones who dont kno anyfink bout football so why does it matter.
Everyone knos from setpieces hes one of the best in the world, other than that no one in football no one really rates him at playing football that highly? hes a luxury the best sides could afford to have and his ability from setpieces is worth at least 20 goals a season.
The reason hes so widely respected is because hes the full package. He can kick a ball, he can sale you anyfink from a razor blade to a pair of sun glasses if u put his face on it and hes nice bloke from a hard working east london background. Celebrates want to kno him and normal folk want to be him!
He not an over-rated footballer because u can attribute all his success and popularity to football.
In football terms hes comparably to barry fergerson
but in marketing terms hes bigger than Tom Cruise

No...but I do think the jealous journalists and pundits who moan about him all the time are over rated.
I think he is a fine footballer and i think his new deal in the US is fantastic. I like Posh and Becks because they have ignored all the sour faced 'little' people around them and have made a great success of themselves.
His new deal means he will earn 82p per second for five years! He really is laughing all the way to the bank...and good luck to him.

Not just in Europe. He's easily the most over-rated player in the world right now. Most of his publicity has come from his marriage to Victoria "Sporty Spice" Beckham anyway.

i agree with "need 4 speed " above.
it's called spin, she had millions first and paid 4 all his positive/overrated media hype, money well invested, eh?
& i had a video of beckham ( Man U vs Westham ) who can clearly b seen tripping over the moving football.
he's great, but not fantastic with a static ball but lousy with a moving ball!
hardly the sign of a masterful footballer!
can i find that sodding video, now?
we lost it when we moved house!
Blast, eh?

I think he has been very good for this country and a role model for younger kids. But i think he has had his day in football and will concentrate on a modelling career now!

No he is not overrated. Even after many years in soccer he can still play. I doubted his skills until i watched England in the World Cup last year. He just gets paid a lot because he brings in lots of fans that like to pay to see him.
