Totally bogus.
Polar bear usually catch seal when they come up to take air trough a hole in the ice pack. The bear can catch it then.
Their head has all the mobility it needs.
Look at that video (very bloody) and notice how mobile the head is.
And even if it was not, those claws on the paws could still turn you into hamburger in seconds flat.

I don't know. However, I don't lose sleep at night worrying about being attacked by Polar Bears, there are not many in Africa. Maybe if you lived on that Lost island it would be a problem.

where did you hear that particular bit of survival knowledge? whom ever that was would be the weakest link in the arctic food chain.lol
they can move thier heads any direction they want, and even if they couldn't, one swip of those claws can open up a metal camper like a tin can. polar bears are one of the few animals that actually think of humans as food and will habitually stalk them. there are bear deaths in the far north often, and a lot of time the person is partially eaten

I don't think that you need to worry too much about being attacked by a polar bear

could they not just bite your stomach or some other part of your body that they could get to without tilting their heads?? Also, I wouldn't want to get into a fight with a polar bear. They have enough to worry about what with glabal warming destroying their habitat.... :o(

LOL! If you tick a polar bear off enough so that it wants to attack you, just consider yourself DEAD. It doesnt matter when it cant grab at one little piece of you. When it SWATS you with enough force that can tear the front end off a CAR - how do you think your body is going to handle it? When it's claws flay the skin off one of your limbs, what then? When it stands on its hind legs to bite your head off, now what?
Just dont go around trying to do "bear tipping"... Unlike cows, they fight back...

I don't think I'd want to count on that. Luckily we don't get many polar bears along the costa blanca.
