There's no real name for us other than "Bay Staters", as Massachusetts is the Bay State. There's no such word as Massachusettian or anything similar.
New Englander, although technically correct, is too general - Massachusetts is one of 6 states that makes up New England. I can say I've been a New Englander all my life because I was born and raised in Connecticut (another state where the people don't have a good name) and I've lived in Massachusetts most of my adult life.

Bay Staters, though there are many other nicknames within the state as well. For example, there are The Minutemen from The University of Massachusetts. The football Minutemen won NCAA national football championship not too long ago.

People who live in Massachusetts or who come from Massachusetts are called Bay Staters after one of the state's nicknames.

I cannot belive that only 2 of the 16 Answerers before me gave you the correct answer: Bay Staters.
As to "Massholes" I've never heard this but I suppose some red staters (or red state sympathizers) might use it, if only from jealousy.

Well, I'm from Maine, and we always call people from Massachusetts "Massholes", but I don't think that really helps you.

In Maine, I've heard Mass-holes and Flatlanders. I've refered to myself as a Bostonian...actually I would be a Bostonienne.
