I graduated with a degree in Computer Information Systems. However, I actually learned nothing with this major. It was a waste of time. I actually got me a job that is not even related to what I studied, but it deals with computers. Anyone else knows what I can do? I need job that pays me more.

WOW, I know it is hard to get a job right out of school......

you may know a lot more the you feel you do.

you could move into a medical information job. just now a set of federal regulations called HIPPA have the medical information field on edge. it deals with protecting the patients personal information, and how the information is handled and by who.

information systems is not a clear cut field as is most others. that's why many feel they were shorted when school ends. information is everywhere, managing it is a major part of the IT field, notably those in the medical field.

remember your degree is not really a good measure of what you know, than it is a statement on your stability, and your ability to stick to a long term goal and finish it. do not underrate yourself.

look around and find information, note the form it is in, maybe you can make your own job (or second) by offering to manage those data.

I hope this gives you some ideas, and bolsters your idea of what have learned

Try getting into IT Departments with various companies. You may try getting into IT Departments in government (i.e. your city) which pay more and you'll get good benefits.

System administration, database administrator (DBA), database programmer, business analyst, system analyst, sales, etc. There's a lot of places you can go.
